Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a NDT Technician II SR to support the NDT department. Selected candidate will perform non-destructive testing on aircraft components to meet customer and internal processing requirements. Performs daily tests, interprets non-destructive test results, and maintains product quality documentation by keeping accurate records and files. Assures product quality by utilizing a combination of skill, knowledge, interpretation, attention to detail, and technical/mathematical ability.

A Non-Destructive Test Technician may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties:
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

  • Perform all phases of magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspections (non-destructive testing) of aircraft components in accordance with CMM requirements and/or customer specifications.
  • Assure product quality and manufacturing accuracy by properly interpreting inspection results.
  • Perform all required tests.
  • Maintain product quality documentation by keeping accurate records and files. Develop and/or write technique sheets.
  • Maintain process control and equipment specifications. Ensure that inspections and equipment conform to standards by correctly reading blueprints and applicable specifications.
  • Update procedures, tests, and specifications so as to stay in accordance with CMM requirements and/or customer specifications, as applicable.
  • Continue training to ensure compliance with CMM requirements and/or customer specifications, as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance through testing for level I, II, III certification, as applicable.
  • Solve problems by working closely with other departments (Customer Support, Engineering, and other Repair and Overhaul Departments).
  • Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Performs other duties as required by business needs.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure: Non Destructive Test Certification required.
  • Must be able to pass the Hawker Pacific Inc. Level I Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrates Qualification Test within 120 days of hire date.
  • Must be able to pass the Hawker Pacific Inc. Level II Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrates Qualification Test within 120 days after passing the Level I test.
  • Must be a fully qualified Level II Technician in both Liquid Penetrate and Magnetic Particle Inspection in accordance with MIL-STD-410E and other applicable customer specifications.
Experience: Landing Gear and MRO.
5-7years (All NDT II and 50% NDT II SR tasks and certified in 2 methods)

This position may require use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), or both. U.S. Person preferred.
